Probably the best option to rent rather than buy

I recently switched to Texas Hold'em and just wanted to learn the basics of the game so I rented this DVD. Hosted by 2003 World Series of Poker Champion Chris Moneymaker, the show aims to show the basics of the game, not the complex strategic moves. Chris talks about the basics like poker hand rankings (pairs, full house), explains betting jargon (check, raise, call) and offers advice on etiquette. They show a Hold'em hand being played by a group of people and explain the different options each

Poker for Dummies, a great choice for learning how to play poker

This poker DVD will not teach you how to become a world class player; He may not even teach you how to make money, but you will learn how to play poker. So if you want to learn poker rules, basic strategy and poker etiquette then this DVD is a great choice for you. This is the best poker tutorial video I've ever seen. The video consists of 7 segments: Poker Basics, Texas Hold'em, Hold'em Central Strategies, Bluffs, Gestures, World Series Ten Secrets and Home Games. The formatting and…

The Poker for Dummies DVD is designed for true beginners who don't want to look stupid when they first set foot in a casino, card room, or even a friendly neighborhood game. This could be a real boon if it also paid more attention to the largest group of new poker…

Not as good as we would like. Good for Casino Gear

Chris Moneymaker hosts Poker for Dummies, a DVD literally made for dummies who want to play poker. In terms of presentation, this is in many ways the best production I've seen in a poker video. Is it worth just looking at beautiful graphics, music and the right editing? There are two types of poker books and/or videos: those genuinely interested in the theories and possibilities of how and why the game works, which I call inspirational poker works, and those who don't care, uninspired ( ie cash
