Through trial and error I found that the digital sockets are suitable for devices with a screen such as a TV or monitor. When I first received this air conditioner, I accidentally connected the CD player to the digital jack. The instruments in the songs I knew sounded strange and unusual. Luckily, I tried plugging the CD player into a different outlet that my amp and DAC were already plugged into. Afterward, the music sounded exactly as I remembered it, but with an expanded soundstage, visualization, and focus that I had never heard from my system before. It also removed the annoying boundary between the upper mids and low highs in the music I listen to. I am very pleased with the improvement Furman has made to my system. I should add that I live in a crowded area so my power lines are probably louder than most. I highly recommend this item!
