It lacks adequate head buoyancy support.
The headrest has insufficient flotation to keep the baby's head at an acceptable height above the water. 12 lbs, tested 2 months old and his head was hanging down so much his ears were under water and too close to his mouth. Seems to be poor headrest design. Maybe we got a bad jacket. I found several other reviews mentioning the same issue. So be aware that this is not well suited for swimming in the water without the risk of an ear infection and that an adult will need to be close by to give you uninterrupted support and supervision.
- Comfortable buoyancy for toddlers who are too small or too small for "normal" life jackets.
