Description of Level Six Puffer Baby Flotation Vest - Sun Yellow: Ensuring Safety & Style on the Water

Comfortable flotation for babies too small or young for "regular" life jackets. Designed for babies 9 to 25 pounds (4 to 9 kg). Soft neoprene harness and shell for comfort. Three buckles: one at lower front (to make diaper changes easier), two at shoulder straps for easy on/off by an adult. Adjustable waist strap. 3-piece collar design contours around baby's head for upright support. Note: This vest is not USCG or Transport Canada approved since there is currently no testing standard to certify PFDs for children under 9 kilograms (20 pounds).

Just what we needed for height

This life jacket was not bulky or pressing on baby's chin. The baby was happy and splashed leisurely in the water. The floats are deceptive and the bright colors help keep baby in sight.

Pros
  • Three-piece collar conforms to baby's head for vertical support
Cons
  • Compatibility

Good fit and great quality

I bought this life jacket for my 3 month old grandson who weighed 10 pounds. His mother was very pleased with how well it fit and that he didn't seem to mind wearing it. It was very well done.

Pros
  • For children weighing 4 to 9 kg (9 to 25 lbs). Soft neoprene straps and shell for comfort.
Cons
  • Zero

Not customized as expected.

Based on the reviews I thought this life jacket would be the best option for my baby. Unfortunately, it doesn't fit well enough and her head slips between her shoulders, making it unsafe. It seemed well made but best suited to older children.

Pros
  • Three buckles: one on the bottom front (for easier diaper changes), two on the shoulder straps for easy on and off for adults. Adjustable waist belt.
Cons
  • Requires socket

It lacks adequate head buoyancy support.

The headrest has insufficient flotation to keep the baby's head at an acceptable height above the water. 12 lbs, tested 2 months old and his head was hanging down so much his ears were under water and too close to his mouth. Seems to be poor headrest design. Maybe we got a bad jacket. I found several other reviews mentioning the same issue. So be aware that this is not well suited for swimming in the water without the risk of an ear infection and that an adult will need to be close by to give…

Pros
  • Comfortable buoyancy for toddlers who are too small or too small for "normal" life jackets.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
