Good for occasional use when you don't need the exact mold

Hardwood is hard but quite irregular in shape. So when you chisel softer metals, the surface can take on the same uneven shape. Pop up. This is probably the worst wooden mandrel I've ever seen (it wasn't homemade).

So I expected a bit more from this- the shape is not even, its a little wonky (technical term.)
