If it doesn't work for you try this

I bought 2 from Revain and 1 direct from Garmin, they are all identical and cost the same. All 3 didn't work right away, I mean the green light didn't come on even after changing the battery and they didn't sync to my Garmin 520. Please note that I have 4 other Garmin cadence sensors on my other bikes. and they work fine. Why don't newer sensors work? After comparing them to my old ones that work, I found the problem. The battery is held in the cover by a small tin cage with small projections. The larger of these pins is the contact point that completes the circuit to power the device. With all three new sensors, this contact tab did not fold into its slot. After I tilted it, the sensor worked fine. I don't know if this is a factory defect or if this was done to keep the battery fresh during shipping. However, neither the manual nor the net says anything about it. Another change they've made to their newer devices is that they've added a piece of white tape to this cage under the + sign for the battery, just like they did on older models. However, on the newer model, they've lengthened the small piece of tape that sticks out from under the battery to make changing batteries easier. Great idea except when you pull that tab the battery comes out with that cage. This cage MUST be reinserted into the cap of the exact same serum, leaving the larger contact tab inserted into the appropriate slot and bent. Hope that helps
