Came home from a long trip and my wife said the garage door stopped working. A quick look and saw that the spindle was not moving while the motor was running. He got up and saw a tattered muff lying around. Good thing it isn't. Checked after hours and ordered a replacement. Dismantled on arrival in the morning. Fits great. Drive shaft and hinges lubricated at the same time. So a pair of plastic has most likely become fragile with age. Pretty narrow space around the pair, otherwise I'd add some metal zip ties to reinforce it. I recently changed rollers so I'm hoping to be fine for another 15-20 years.
