Review on 🧼 White Hoover FH54050V Dual Spin Pet Plus Upright Shampooer Carpet Cleaner Machine by Tim Knoepfle

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Reliable performance and ease of use! Hoover wins!

We are very happy with this Hoover Dual Spin Pet Plus carpet cleaner. It was easy to assemble right out of the box, with thoughtful extras (a strap to hold the hand hose when not in use, a silicone mat to store the unit when not in use so there are no drip issues, etc.). ) told me that some effort went into the design of this device. This is far from the first carpet cleaner... we've had both manual and large machines. But it's by far the most advanced we've had, which is good given we have a few older pets and lots of carpeting. The mop water tank is easy to set up and the gray water tank is the right size (which seems logical, but not all manufacturers have managed to do this in the past. Carpet Cleaner isn't particularly heavy, which is always a good thing, but has enough weight to indicate that it is is well built and that its suction/exhaust motors have adequate power, multiple passes can help and the 'heatforce' drying option improves the process so that overall performance is on par if not slightly better than previous household cleaners such as carpet cleaners Engine noise is pretty normal, definitely quieter than some in the area, enough to warn the cats to go elsewhere (not enough...not written as before, that's for sure!) forward, suck backwards, that is everything." The fact is, no carpet cleaners sold for home use can be used in this way. It's important to working in small areas, applying the cleaning liquid to the carpet, allowing it to soak into the carpet, and then deliberately vacuuming/pulling over the same area several times. You may have to do this a few times depending on the soil that's been kicked into the carpet, but make sure you get enough passes to ensure you get it all back out. Pro tips also recommend rinsing with clean water and vacuuming after this process to flush away any solution left between the carpet fibers and prevent the carpet from drying out, becoming sticky and picking up future dirt faster. (Unfortunately, this device doesn't separate the pure water tank into a pure water part and a solution part, but that would require additional parts that could fail and that would increase the cost of production, so I guess I don't do that (I'm not surprised that it wasn't made here. I remember Hoover had some models that did years ago, but maybe they'll bring it back for a future "luxury" model.) The good news is what's included " Heatforce -Technology means that the air used in the vacuuming process is preheated so the carpet dries faster I find it hard to be objective on this now as we have a wet part of the year here so everything seems kind of wet but scientifically it delivers a net benefit to the process I believe it has helped with the carpet cleaning I have done so far and will do so in the summer months of the can say with confidence next year. for the sake of padding and corners and edges that the dual-brush main roller head can't reach (why would cats aim for corners when launching hairballs?). The included strap is perfect for holding the spiral hose when not in use, although I wish there was a attachment point you could attach the cleaning end to when not in use... It's weird having it on the hose to leave attached. So far I am happy with the antimicrobial technology of the rollers. It's nothing I can see, but so far they haven't given off a weird smell after use, so... yay! It will be something to watch over time (the nose?). To prolong this effect, I spent a little time plucking out pet hair with curlers after application. It didn't take me too long, which is good as I have to do this every time to keep the bristles from rolling and losing their usefulness (wish they had a plucking tool with them for this, but I get by with it). Once again, I have to commend Hoover's decision to include a silicone mat (with raised edges) with this carpet cleaner! This is the first carpet cleaner where we didn't have to buy a plastic tray or put everything on the tiles in the kitchen to keep residual moisture from getting onto the carpet and damaging the hardwood floor. It's huge! The reality is that any carpet cleaner will drip after use, both from the leftover gray water on the roller brushes and from the drain hose connected to the gray water reservoir. This happens regardless of brand or price. Also, the clean liquid will leak out a bit as some of it stays in the pump and hose that goes from the clean tank to the spray nozzles. Both cannot be avoided. Because of that reality, I'm glad Hoover realized this was coming and provided a silicone mat to hold those drops. I can store everything where it's most convenient and not have to worry about what I'll see underneath the next time I pick up the device. (Additional note: DO NOT store this or any other carpet cleaner with liquid in any of the containers. When you're done, empty and rinse, otherwise even the best cleaner will leak over time.) As a general rule, I am very happy with this Hoover Dual Spin Pet Plus carpet cleaner. It is definitely worth the asking price. I hope it lasts for many years.
