Finally figured out how to do it. Everything is manual: you literally drag and drop folders. But there's a lot of technical detail about what and where you can drag and drop. When I did this before, the software automated the process and it worked all night. Transmission speed is low. Often the software stops in the middle of the process and you have to start all over again. If you don't need to transfer much, this might work well, but I could just transfer the files to a transfer drive and then copy them over to the new computer again - it's that primitive. I think you get what you pay for.
