The outer surfaces are thickly coated, very smooth and shiny, and overall the caps feel light and strong. Looks and feels like a quality item. I've always preferred to pay a little more first and get something well made, which usually saves me money and stress in the long run. However, I was a bit disappointed to see that the internal threads didn't seem to be coated or lubricated with any kind other than the paint itself, which was just sprayed inside the cap and not anodized or baked as much as you can see (they did have a rubber coating though). at the top of the inside of the cap). This lack of internal coating or preparation on the threads I associate with cheap brands that can catch on the threads and ruin your valve stems. I lubricated the threads with graphite grease and the caps were fine.
