Review on Waterproof Momentary Button Switch for DIY Projects by Sean Burnett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good buttons in industrial switches

Nice set of 14 buttons in two colors. They come in a small, sealed, anti-static ziplock bag with loose washers and nuts. The colors are good and look solid and should be pretty solid. The product images do a great job of showing you how much travel you can take with the push of a button. They don't click and require quite a bit of force to operate. They don't look like arcade buttons at all, more like you're pressing for an important action like turning on a motor etc. They claim to be waterproof but I haven't tried to test them. They don't come with rubber washers which would be a good idea to seal in the mounting hole. I suspect water can get in when the button is pressed, but when it's open the button presses against the outer edge of the case and should provide a reasonable plastic-to-plastic seal. There may also be additional internal water protection that I'm not aware of. Nice assortment for a project or in a box of parts. They are relatively small so they can be used in any small project where you need an attractive professional look.

Pros
  • Controls and indicators
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly
