We eat rice by the ton in Hawaii. I eat healthy, so I chose this model that has a dedicated button for cooking brown rice. To be honest, I haven't tried brown rice yet. My mom used to cook Japanese rice (short grain kalroza and the consistency was perfect!) Unit is a bit clunky, I'm used to a more upright model. My last Panasonic was fantastic, it had a pen and was easy to take to the beach. This one is a bit more fussy and formal than my last all-in-one slab. I love Panasonic rice cookers and grew up with National brand ones. I believe Panasonic bought National. Hope it lasts it's the fanciest rice cooker we've ever had in our family so far so good and for the money we're very happy :) Oh and the shipping was free. FOREVER to come here. Only 3 days from order to delivery! GREAT!
