This item does not keep warm for the duration described. The longest it stays warm is 10 minutes and it's still not warm enough for the right condition for those of us with curly, thick hair. Also when I heat it up, the heat is distributed unevenly no matter how many times I turn the lid. The only place it caught all the heat was just before the explosion (I watched VERY carefully because of the other reviews listed). Also, it's a bit uncomfortable to wear. The protrusions at the ends of the cap are not comfortable to wear even with air conditioner caps underneath. I finally took it off and crawled under my hooded dryer. I had to turn the dryer on low because the high setting blew a fuse in my apartment. That was the main reason I bought this useless conditioning hat.
