These are fairly strong gloves that stayed on my hands while welding. I could wear a denim vest, which kept me cool in many ways. I kept them in my truck because who knows when you might need a pair of big cinder gloves? Well, they came in handy when a raccoon snuck into my wife's office. I was able to safely grab the little garbage panda without his claws tearing my arms apart. I'm not sure what would happen if he tried to bite me and I don't want to know. I don't make raccoons, I test, but maybe one day manufacturers will be able to give gloves a raccoon bite rating.
