I bought these bottles to replace some plastic bottles that seemed prone to mold and needed constant bleaching. I chose glass because of the ease of cleaning. With glass, unlike plastic, they stay the same after you disinfect them. It seems that any fungus or mold that appears on the plastic will remain even if you bleach. I also prefer milk storage glass because it keeps the milk cooler. UPDATE 1/15: I've noted a number of reviews that have expressed criticism of rusting or otherwise unusable lids. Because of this, I chose from the start to cover the top of the bottle with a small square of plastic (like from a sandwich bag) and then screw on the cap. It worked very well. The lid remains intact and the jar is sealed properly.
