I had to replace my old version of these rings (from another manufacturer) as they had completely rusted out after many years. The Amazer version is lighter but has a few advantages that my old set didn't have. First, the top - the part that rolls along the bar - is dense. This will prevent the ring from falling off when you change the shower curtain liner and the outside curtain will create imbalance. Density does not affect the ability to roll smoothly. Second, double ended hooks are rectangular rather than curved. This is good because it in turn prevents the curtain or liner from falling off if the liner or curtain is removed on the opposite side and the ring tips. I am very happy with these rings!
