Attention TCL 55 S405 users; Still - Solid mount for the money

I usually wait a few months before writing a review but to be honest I have the product installed so not sure what else to do with it would to update this review. I ordered a medium mount. It was advertised at approximately 25 inches in length and 24 inches in tips. The unit I got was closer to 30". I didn't really care, in fact I was a bit glad it was larger than I expected. It was incredibly thick and durable and didn't look cheap. My pockets will I Note: The instructions are for screws that are not in the bag There are screws/washers etc in the bag from letter A to G. I noticed my G part had a bunch of different sized screws, which matched respectively J/K/L Regarding The part that attaches to the TV seemed solid The hooks snap in well and there are screws (Phillips) you need to tighten to fix it I would have preferred a rubber tip because I noticed one was beginning to dig into the drywall. What annoyed me the most was installing the TCL 55 S405 TV.The VESA 200x200 mount had about 1" of the mount protruding under the TV right A quick cut with a dremel later and it was gone, but so was my ability to be returned (i.e. what is 700 VESA?). So, TCL 55" users, note that the metal is thick enough that you don't want to pierce it with a hacksaw! :) Also when reinstalling the TV after cuts, it is sensitive to the position of the screws on On my first "reassembly" the TV was tilted slightly (Level confirmed it) I had to take it off and adjust the screws backwards by loosening the screws by pulling it down or up to make sure both Sides are aligned side of the TV and tighten again Otherwise everything came out clean I was able to route the cables through the bracket in the wall I am very satisfied.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Expensive insurance
