Review on Organize Your Art Supplies with the U.S. Art Supply 3-Drawer Artist Wood Pastel, Pen, Marker Storage Box by Kristen Reid

Body set with 150 pencils + 48 Art Stix!

Looking at these boxes for my Prismacolor pencils, I realized that a 3-drawer system would be too small for my 150-pen set. However, I also had a set of 49 Prismacolor Art Stix and wanted something that would fit everyone. While a 4-drawer system would have worked, it was prohibitively expensive - about three times the price of a 3-drawer box. ? So I decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. First, cork partitions are very easy to remove. Cut open the glue with an Xacto knife, gently rock back and forth and they will come off easily. Use a ruler to remove any remaining glue from the bottom of the box and you're done. I used bowls from my Prismacolor set. I placed the top two trays on the dresser and then cut the last four trays to fit together (I had to remove two slots from one tray to fit each drawer). There are four extra pins left. I had another tray from another set and blew it up in the last drawer along with the trays for my Art Stix. Voila! Yes, a set of pens is on top. but I don't move my pencils very often, so it's not a problem. I also laminated my color cards and glued them on top. I know some people have had quality issues. I have no problem with that. They're not heavy wood, but my chest is fine.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
