This mug is a bit smaller than I expected. It's also thin enough to allow heat to bleed through unhindered, possibly to the point of flammability when using boiling water. The handle also gets a little warm. I use this mug to drink tea on cold mornings and now I know that I have to be careful so that this aspect doesn't bother me. It also produces a lot of condensation, necessitating a stand. I would be wary of serving anything hot to a child. With all that, despite its flaws, it's very cute and I'm glad I bought it.
