What about the socket? It's a good material, very flexible and should be strong. I use them as spacers in a Dutch Bucket hydroponics setup (search YouTube for Dutch Bucket Tomatoes if you want to see the application). I had my doubts that they would caulk a 1/2" PVC pipe into a 1" hole, but they work great. The delivery was on time and in good condition.
