I bought a 2012 2013 Specialized HardRock Sport Disc 29'er. I mainly used it for driving and training on fire roads. After riding the bike about 1000 miles I started using it for more intense XC and light AM. I decided that the standard stem and bars would no longer work, my arms get tired too quickly on steep descents, so I opted for wider bars and a shorter stem. After a little research, this pair seemed suitable to me. Choice: Very strong Weight is ok (nothing special) Looks sexy Perfect length Since I've been using it I'm very satisfied, I feel like I have much more control over the bike. It's extremely stiff and just feels solid. I use it with matching handlebars. Some people online are complaining that this stem is loose and won't tighten after some use, but I've abused this thing and it's still as tight as the day I bought it.
