Review on Household Essentials 17145-1 Retractable Clothesline Dryer - 5-Line, Indoor/Outdoor Use for Hanging Wet or Dry Laundry by Travis Rogers

Good product, instructions on how to vacuum like a vacuum

Having recently bought a home in a good HOA that doesn't allow clothes lines, I bought it to in about a year to install and use in my garage warm climate. To say there were no instructions was an understatement. The instructions also state that screws to mount the receiver bracket are not included, so we carefully selected 2 types of screws to mount the bracket: bolted or non-bolted if required. The receiver mount is obviously designed for use on a mast. NO INSTRUCTIONS for wall or hard surface mounting. The only way to do this was causing severe scratches on my freshly painted wall (see photo below). He dismounted and levered twice with the vise, eventually opening enough for us to spare the wall any further ugliness. The instructions for tensioning the 5 lines left a lot to be desired. All five turned out to be lost and in dire need of tweaking to a flimsy manual. Each hardened line weakened the other. In the end we figured the main adjustments should have been made using the knobs on the body rather than the large right handle tightening or loosening ALL 5 lines. When most lines are as tight as you like, lock this setting in place with the small knob on the left side of the body. Unfortunately, there is one more thing you should know. If you want to put the mechanism back in its original case until next time, the "Lock" knob needs to be rotated back to its original position. Don't make the same mistake I did by laying lines on the floor to unlock the retraction mechanism. It'll fly back into the body like a bat from hell, messing up the lines, not to mention scaring you half to death. IF THERE WERE GOOD RAILWAYS WITH THIS DEVICE AND there were no guesswork, I would happily give it 4 or even 5 stars!
