Review on Green Canon PowerShot A1100IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera with Optical Image Stabilization, 4x Zoom, and 2.5-inch LCD by Philip Davenport

Great camera. ( "Image blurry "? Make sure you remove that plastic!)

Bought this for my wife. I have an Elph that I love because it fits in a shirt or pants pocket. She likes the A1100IS because it has a large LCD screen and uses AA batteries. It uses batteries, but I also like AA because if my camera's battery dies and hers dies too, we can get AA anywhere in a pinch and have at least one camera. My mom also has this camera and loves the feel of the camera. The same battery compartment, which makes this model larger than the Elph, is a plus, she says, because it gives her something solid to wrap her fingers around. Definitely the other reviews are more detailed but I have to say one thing about the reviews that say the photos are blurry. This is going to sound silly, but I had the same reaction when we snapped some photos on Christmas morning. I checked them out on the LCD screen and they were awful. I thought I got a lemon and was very disappointed. Then I noticed that there was an almost invisible plastic protective film over the LCD. When I took it off everything was perfect. This may not be what has happened to others who have complained about blurry photos, but I just wanted to clarify (no pun intended) because I almost made a huge mistake. So, FYI, unlike similar screen protectors I've seen on hundreds of different products (I even leave them on my phones etc. until they come off), this one on this camera is blurry because it's everything looking out focus. and it was hard to find.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Almost everything is there
