Works well for the price I paid. I bought it about 10 years ago, before videophones really took off. The quality of the images wasn't the best and the scaling wasn't what I expected, and each scaling degraded the image quality. They also almost always had to zoom in because the image started with a much more distant object than it was. I expected more from a Canon product. Unfortunately this camera didn't last long as I took it to work for an event and a colleague was using it (and I think he…

Great camera! - Point & Shoot digital cameras

I bought this camera from Revain in December 2009 and I love everything about it. Pros: Very easy to use and set up this camera. The weight and the way you hold the camera are spot on and you don't feel like it will fly out of your hands. The video option works great and the voice quality of the video is pretty good as long as there isn't too much background noise. The camera images are great and you can create great lighting effects, especially at sunrise and sunset, for the price you can't…

All right: Digital Cameras

The A1100IS I had was quite fine. My main concern is the quality of the recordings, not all the features of the Wizbang. The camera is very easy to use and the size allows you to carry it in your pocket every day. Response time was good and shutter lag was acceptable. Lots of shooting modes (which most people will never understand, let alone use). My two main complaints: 1. Very soft images. My old A560 captures beautifully sharp images in almost any situation. 1100 just doesn't deliver the…

Great camera. ( "Image blurry "? Make sure you remove that plastic!)

Bought this for my wife. I have an Elph that I love because it fits in a shirt or pants pocket. She likes the A1100IS because it has a large LCD screen and uses AA batteries. It uses batteries, but I also like AA because if my camera's battery dies and hers dies too, we can get AA anywhere in a pinch and have at least one camera. My mom also has this camera and loves the feel of the camera. The same battery compartment, which makes this model larger than the Elph, is a plus, she says, because…

Nice upgrade from our previous camera

We have a Canon 8MP Powershot camera and we are very happy with it. With Revain pricing and free shipping as part of Prime, we decided to upgrade to the 12MP A1100IS. Yes, I know going from 8 to 12 is a little better as we don't plan to print 11x17 poster size photos. But we upgraded for the following reasons: 1. The reviews have been great, both from amateurs and professionals, both here and on other sites.2. An AA battery is more convenient than carrying around an old brand name battery and…

Canon A1100IS - I love it!

I bought the 1100IS for two main reasons: the optical viewfinder and because it uses AA batteries. Most of the new 2010 point and shoot cameras don't have these features. I have a hard time taking pictures with the display because I have to hold the camera away to see the subject. For me it gives me goosebumps. When using the optical viewfinder, the subject places their hands on their body and the camera on their nose/face, giving much more stability. Display and no optical viewfinder. This was

Wife loves it so it MUST be good!

I've been with Canon® for a very, very long time - over 40 years to be exact (hell!). When I decided to give Beautiful Wife (BW) a new camera for Christmas, it was undoubtedly a Canon®. She's the kind of person who makes things easy, aiming and shooting without hesitation, who just wants to snap some good photos of family, office gang, and put the camera in the travel case called handbag for easy carrying is accessible. This little camera fits that bill damn well. It's small, but not too small…
