Premium Laces

Premium Laces, 11/10. Seriously, that's pretty good. Of course he has a detection thread consisting of 2 black and 1 white. It consists of a core of nylon strands woven into seven strands surrounded by a sheath of 32 nylon strands. So this is a parachute line. The 550 feels a lot stiffer than the 750, which tends to have a slightly looser shell and flattens more easily under pressure - even if you sit on this cable for some time, it doesn't look flat, while the 750 is noticeably flatter. When crafting, I prefer a stiffer cord. I can't speak to its ability to skydive old-school style, but I *did* a proof test (make a loop and stand in it) at 50% of rated power. Keep in mind that while paracord stretches, it typically only stretches about 10% *before it breaks*: If you pull it with your hands, it will stretch very little unless you generate hundreds of pounds of strength. Most people could probably stretch a meter (yard) of string only a few centimeters (inches). It's also important to note that it can support 550 pounds of *static* weight - the dynamic force generated at the bottom of the pendulum makes it swing, even if a small person swinging a few feet can break it. In skydiving, each line would be just one of dozens supporting the skydiver's weight and the entire system would have a payload capacity of thousands of pounds required to safely absorb the tremendous forces generated by the opening of a parachute. Anyway, nylon. extremely abrasion resistant - a pair of laces will probably outlast the shoe so I'm not worried about the laces that come with them.
