I bought this HDMI 5x1 switch because my old Samsung HDTV only has 3 ports and it's difficult to put it on the wall. The TV is older than 4K and only has 1080. I need to hook up a few components, I also want to add a new Android TV box and was also planning to move my computer. I have an old 4-way HDMI switch that has worked great on another TV (same TV manufacturer) for a few years, and a Roku box works with it. Unfortunately, this model and manufacturer switch is no longer available. Chose this device based on the reviews. However, I didn't get good results from them. I connected it to Android Box for a test and got no result. I've tried using all 5 inputs to no avail. Then I changed the HDMI cables and that didn't work either. The switch knew there was a connection because the LED for the port in use lit up and moved with the input wire. He just didn't pass the signal on. I then tried my direct TV signal and it went through all the ports with no problems. I tried again with the android box - nothing. I could live with that now. I would connect the android directly to the tv and run the satellite and all other devices through the switch. Then the fun started. I plugged it in and all was going well until I turned off the hardware running through the switch. I was planning to use an android box that connects directly to the TV. I lost control of the TV and its remote control didn't work (power, input select, etc.). It took a while, but as soon as I turned the other devices connected to the switch back on, the TV remote worked. Apparently shaking the hand of the HDMI switcher with my Samsung TV felt more like a slap in the face. After trying to solve this problem for some time, I decided that the result was not worth the effort and my installation had too many problems. The Switch is back and I'll be looking for reviews of other Switches where someone mentions a working Android box. I give it 3 stars because it worked on my other hardware. I only used it for a trial period and for that it really worked. Follow up: I later discovered that the android box had an output of 60 fps and I believe that was the problem. My replacement switch rated at 60fps works great. So if you don't have 60 this should work just fine.
