Review on 🔍 Spectra Precision AL28M Auto Level: 28x Magnification, Magnetic Dampened Compensator, Tangent Drives, Stadia Lines, Water Resistant by Jeff Pfaff

I chose this level over David White and I regret it. When it arrived I didn't like the quality of the transport, but I explained that it was probably good enough. and the level itself was probably very good. Upon first inspection of the instrument I noticed that some of the adjustment screws were damaged and looked substandard, I was going to return it but I needed it immediately so I decided to keep it and hope for the best. it worked fine for a few months until the focus adjustment stopped working, loosened a bit, i think there is a set screw that adjusts the travel of the focus mechanism, it's broken or something. Luckily I was ready for internal work at that moment, so I used line lasers for that and the thing took a long time, sitting in a box for work. Only now, at the end of the year, when the work has slowed down a bit, am I trying to find my way around the spectra. Customer service nightmare, they have no direct line or contact with the company, you have to go to their retailers and their retailers don't want to deal with you unless you've bought an item from them, so now I might try again and again if I don't succeed, I'll probably throw it away. Lesson learned, if it doesn't look good send it back!
