This is my first TV wall mount. I searched and found this one and since it had so many good reviews I decided to give it a try. It arrived and the first thing that struck me was that this thing is HEAVY. I haven't weighed it but it seems to be close to 20-25 pounds. He will endure much more than the television. What's really nice is that everything you could possibly need is in the box. It comes with screws/bolts, wall anchors, washers etc. The instructions state that you can install it in brick or wall studs. I loved having everything. When we talk about travel destinations, they haven't been the best in the world. I realize this is probably stupid, but when I got to the point where I needed to attach the main bracket to the wall I didn't know which end to attach? I didn't know where the wall was and where the TV was. It only took a minute or two, but for the record, the part with the numerous small holes made at the top and bottom is the side of the wall. I figured this out by seeing what part the "TV mounts" would connect to. The J-shaped pieces that connect to the TV only fit on the front. I know this may sound silly, but it really helped that the engineers made their design "foolproof" in a way. A few tips I have for installation: 1. When fitting the J-pieces to the TV, assemble them so that they are level. I counted the holes from the top to the screw. Then measure the distance from the bottom of the product to the bottom of the TV. This will help you figure out where to mount the bracket. For example, if you know that the bottom of the TV should be cleaned on a piece of furniture. 2. Use a regular spirit level. A 3 foot version is ideal, but a small 6-8 inch version will also do. The mount comes with a spirit level, but I didn't find it that useful. It's small and hard to see when you need it.3. An extra pair of hands during initial wall mounting is helpful. 4. There are two knobs that control the tilt of the TV while hanging on the bracket. Attach them to the mount before doing anything else. This is mentioned below the directions page, but if you don't think about it, it's easy to miss directions. If you don't set them initially (not that I would NEVER miss this, but it happened to my friend), it's not hard to go reset and set later, but it's easier to do it in advance. Insert the screws into the studs until they stop. The screws have a hex head, so a hex socket head is a good choice for screwing the mount to the wall for the last few turns. After installation, the movement is excellent. It can be positioned almost however you want. One final note: if installed properly, this thing isn't going anywhere. Again, mine was in drywall, but you use 4" screws in the studs. I'm a heavy person and I think I can hold on to this thing and it won't move. If your TV is not very heavy, I think this mount will do the trick for you.
