I used this 8" piece to connect the driver side down pipe to the passenger side Y-pipe on my 5.4L 07 F150. It replaced a connector I made a few years ago from a thinner exhaust pipe that had rusted. I used a pipe expander to repair existing 2.5" OD pipes. Hit it with sandpaper to remove the rust residue from the old pipe and unhook the driver's side cat from the headers. Sprayed some penetrating oil and slid that 2.5" ID tube into place. I clamped it down with new band clamps and re-tightened the exhaust to the headers. There are no leaks, the floor no longer rattles.
