Candlestick first time here! During the Corona quarantine I decided to learn something new. I bought floral essential oils and a small coloring kit to try out a 5 lb pack of soy wax. Did a trial run with two different flavors. I also watched a very helpful YouTube video (see if I can put a link) and embarked on my adventure of making a mess. Here's what I found: - Wax melts at 120°F - It pours at 167°F - Perfume is added at 180°F. - Dyes melt at 190°F to 210°F than the size of your container to fill. When melting, I added fragrances that have a 10% fragrance charge in this wax. I don't know what that means yet, but I do know that 15 drops of essential oils produce a stronger and more lasting scent than just 10. 10 drops is barely enough to give a candle a very faint scent. (In my next attempt I'll try adding 20, 25, and 30 drops!) I didn't find the wax difficult to use or difficult to manage. However I made a huge mess on my stovetop haha I plan to play around with the process some more but overall as a beginner it was a good start! https://youtu.be/CrJ9UE6Nihw YouTube video I watched 😊
