I received this product this year to sharpen my children's pencils at home with distance learning. I like that the sharpener can make a blunter cut. This prevents children from tearing off the tips. I saw a review that said it was quiet. It is not. But it's a sharpener, all I know is that it distracts the other kids in the class when sharpening loudly. It's fast. I used it to sharpen a basket of crayons and it worked flawlessly! I like that it knocks out the broken tip. This is perhaps the most disappointing thing about my other pencil sharpeners. If I break off the tip, I'll smack it against my palm and try to knock it out! Just not with this device. I broke a few tips while sharpening and they popped out automatically. In general. I am happy
