Review on πŸ”§ Effortless Clamping with KREG KHC3 Project Clamp Automaxx: Innovative Technology for Hassle-free Projects by Eugene Cox

Some issues hard to clamp for most people but still appreciate using it

Not only does this work great with the Kreg Pocket Screw Jig, it also works great with the clamp materials down . What I don't like about it is that you turn the auto-tension knob to control how tight you want your clamp to tighten quickly over time. After 10 clamps, it suddenly becomes too difficult for me to put on and I have to keep loosening. Another thing I don't like is that it's difficult to work with one hand and I have big hands. However, you get used to it and can work better with one hand. However, this tool is not for those with moderate or weak hand strength. It can be difficult for the average person to use and sometimes useless because you have to squeeze this clamp hard to get it tight enough. For example, my girlfriend helped me pinch a pocket gauge (she helped with many projects) and she couldn't even close it with both hands. She's not weak either, she's built trusses, laid foundations, built stone creek bridges, erected dry stone walls, dug thousands of large holes for tree transplants, etc. Instead, if you think you are I'd just give a quick Irwin or Dewalt use clip that is almost as effective as this pocket hole kreg clip. Luckily I work in a carpentry shop so my hands have been through a lot of torture and are strong enough for this tool. Given the problem with the auto-cocking of the handle, I still love using this clamp and it's worth the price for the increased efficiency in my production.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires a socket
