I use these stones to aerate small hydroponic lettuce systems. I dedicate a stone to each Tetra Whisper 10 air pump, which is their smallest pump. With these minimal pumps, 4" Waycreat rocks provide enough aeration for 6 adult lettuce plants. My systems are more or less standalone versions of the Aerogarden Harvest model. A small Whisper 10 paired with this rock works very well in my setup. The Price of these stones is good and shipping was fast. I suggest looking for a cheap suction cup to attach an air hose to keep the stone upright. The stones don't float but they are quite light and can move around if unsecured.You can find suction cups that attach to the hose near where it connects to the stone.This keeps the stone facing up and secured.
