The speed of this blender is incredible. I've made icing, cake and pudding so far. I've never climbed above the first speed level. The problem may be too powerful. I can't imagine a higher speed. The problem with this blender is the on/off switch. It's too close to the handle, causing it to get stuck and scatter what you're mixing all over the kitchen. Every time I used it I had to wipe down the cabinets and everything else in its path. Too bad, good mixer for the money.
