I have several gloves for winter cycling, including bar mitts, these lobster gloves and mitts in two gauges (double pair) that can be worn in one or two layers. I like Hummer mittens for the freedom to change gears etc and the reflective piece is a welcome addition whether you're cycling the streets or wearing these gloves while running. Pogies are probably warmest when all fingers are together, and shifting and braking are at their best; However, if the bike has aero bars, pogies don't really fit. One or two layer mittens are fine too, but they don't offer the same freedom of movement and use of shifting and braking as lobster gloves. Perhaps a pair of lightweight gloves inside the lobster mitts would add extra warmth. I am happy with my purchase and wear them for good warmth in appropriate activities and temperatures.
