Good protection but over the top

Bought for winter riding. I took them on a trip in 29 degrees for 24 miles. I used a Showerspass glove liner with them. After the first kilometers I was fine and my hands weren't cold. Although I was surprised in the first few kilometers, I felt cold. These are good gloves but I used a lining to tweak them. My mistake was always a large size. The size I wear is large and they fit on their own, but it was too much of a hassle to put on or take off the padded gloves. So much so that I sent them…

The warmest gloves I have found.

They work great. Context: Male, 30 years old, bike ride 4 miles in New York City, average speed is about 15/16 mph. Warmth first: I've tried many other gloves and these are the warmest and best protection so far. Everyone seems a little different, but I've found that when temperatures drop below freezing (0°C, 32°F), I can't just rely on one fleece glove. I also found them too warm and a little sweaty. They're fine if they're frozen. I have some numbness, but that's nothing compared to some…

The review only says size

As stated in the title the review is only about the size as I returned the gloves after trying them on once. I ordered the XXL thinking like most Pearl Izumi clothes it would fit me. Unfortunately it doesn't fit my 10 inch hands which are not giant hands. The fit was too tight, especially for gloves worn in cold conditions. In terms of construction, they had good insulation, although there was little to no padding on the palm. Under my normal Planet Bike Borealis winter gloves I wear my normal…

A good thing. for gloves, mittens and balaclavas

Well, just got it. Haven't used them yet. Updated after I did it. I rode mountain bikes until I was 30 and have experience in winter riding. These gloves will definitely get really warm. I rode 4 hours 28 miles in 33C in my light winter riding gloves. They have fingers and a PowerShield Polartec. NOT a glove within a glove. These are a glove in a glove. Like an insert sewn into the shell. Like a ski glove. I see them useful in temperatures above 20F and below. Lobster pattern mittens greatly…

Good quality and warm enough.

I have several gloves for winter cycling, including bar mitts, these lobster gloves and mitts in two gauges (double pair) that can be worn in one or two layers. I like Hummer mittens for the freedom to change gears etc and the reflective piece is a welcome addition whether you're cycling the streets or wearing these gloves while running. Pogies are probably warmest when all fingers are together, and shifting and braking are at their best; However, if the bike has aero bars, pogies don't really…
