Review on 🧤 Pearl Izumi Lobster Gloves X Small: Supreme Comfort & Enhanced Grip for Cold Weather Cycling by James Julien

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The warmest gloves I have found.

They work great. Context: Male, 30 years old, bike ride 4 miles in New York City, average speed is about 15/16 mph. Warmth first: I've tried many other gloves and these are the warmest and best protection so far. Everyone seems a little different, but I've found that when temperatures drop below freezing (0°C, 32°F), I can't just rely on one fleece glove. I also found them too warm and a little sweaty. They're fine if they're frozen. I have some numbness, but that's nothing compared to some other products I've tried. Craft Shield Warm/Wind/Waterproof Glove, Flumino/Black, Medium. I rode the liner today in 25F / -4C and 20mph winds and went numb but ended up hurting my legs more than my arms so a success. If it gets even colder I may consider looking for a different liner or toe layer. Fit: I am very impressed with the fit. I'm usually medium sized and this size worked great for me here. I have many other Pearl Izumi products and usually fall into the M category. The fit is very natural on the bike and makes it very easy to use the brake shifters. However, if you're really into grip, they don't have the best grip. It's safe enough for me, but if you're worried about slipping, you might want to consider something else. Also worth noting, although this is a lobster glove, I don't feel like it's a bulky glove and it's very easy to "touch" the brakes. Overall I'm very happy with these gloves, the form factor and fit are fantastic. , the warmth is very good but for the price I was hoping for a product that would help me when cycling in extreme cold. All products have their limitations and unfortunately I was hoping I could take these gloves to even colder temperatures. But I don't think they work well for 20 minute rides when temperatures drop below -5C or 23F.
