I at least remember when 20MB drives cost five times as much (well, I remember the days before 20MB PC drives!) Now we have access on a 2 *million* megabyte ride for (gasp) *less than $100*. If you need convincing of the value of something like this, you're (no offense) *Psycho*. But seriously: Western Digital is arguably the world's leading manufacturer of floppy disk drives. Their drives are incredibly reliable; I've had two of their large drives for over 5 years without a single problem. The My Passport series is reliable, fast, hassle-free and overall offers incredible value for money. The available space is ridiculously large. The maximum "hard drive" you can get on a Mac is 1TB, which means you can back up about *2 Macs* to that drive. Given that you probably don't use a lot of hard drive space on your computer and won't be backing everything up anyway, this drive is a great (and portable) backup solution. Finally, I can confirm that this drive works seamlessly with Time Machine (for backups) and Lightroom (for photo management).
