I bought an HP AIO about 4 months ago. We scanned family photos onto paper and tried to go paperless in our home. We did NOT back up our scanned copies; However, we have destroyed our paper copies. Our HP went completely crazy and joined us. Even HP's paid tech support (as well as Office Depot tech support) was NOT able to fix our computer and get it back to a state where we could recover our photos. We decided to remove the hard drive from the back of the all-in-one, bought the unit and tried connecting it to our backup laptop. At first the laptop didn't recognize the drive. I "chkdsk" this hard drive and removed MANY bad sectors from the hard drive, but then quickly recognized the drive and the remaining files, INCLUDING all of our family photos and tax records! This unit did what MANY HP techs and box stores couldn't. It was worth the money!
