Many years ago CBs were installed in my house and in all cars when they cost a lot of money and everyone used them. In a week I will be traveling in a truck towing my motorcycle and I needed a means of communication with the other members of my group. When I first plugged it in, I was a bit disappointed because controlling the noise-cancelling and other features isn't just a button press, it's a two-step process using the channel buttons. But after my 11 year old explained it to me, I'm fine. Communication with the microphone is rather weak, but it works. We installed a 28" antenna and I couldn't hear anything. I was expecting to hear a lot of chatter - nothing. Then, while I was riding my bike and my husband and grandson were in the truck, we started talking, and even 3 miles apart we could understand each other perfectly.This unit is very small and fits perfectly in the front of my truck.I recommend it.
