Revainrating 4 out of 5

Overall very good for computers and accessories

I am pleased with the MSI GL75 Leopard laptop that I purchased from Revain. It arrived intact and within the stated expected delivery. Haven't played it yet so can't comment on suitability. It was pretty easy to set up. Most of the problems I encountered during installation were related to the licensing of my software applications (as opposed to problems caused by the laptop). The only thing I'm not entirely satisfied with is the keyboard. Often it is not possible to leave a space between words (even though I pressed the spacebar). I need to go back and insert a space. I also notice more typos in general. Finally, the font used for the keycaps is a bit unusual. Compared to my old Alienware 17-R3's keyboard, the new one isn't that good. Of course, the fact that Alienware's keyboard was full-size and didn't have chick-style gaps between keys probably weighs on my opinion. People used to chick style keys will feel comfortable with this one. I didn't feel the keyboard issues were worth a 4 so I gave it a 5. By the way, removing the case and replacing the SSD on the Samsung 980 Pro 2TB was more difficult than usual. After a few weeks of use I'm deducting a star. The keyboard is still annoying, and there must be an issue with the USB-C port. The Apple iPhone charger and Samsung T7 external SSD cable seem to have intermittent issues. The SSD disconnects and reconnects, and the MagSafe iPhone charger sometimes doesn't charge at all. Both work well with different connectors (e.g. USB-A, iPhone power bank, etc.). USB-C cables can also be difficult to connect. Never had problems like this with the USB-C port on my old Alienware laptop.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Power outlet required
