This is a thick and durable rain jacket. It protects against rain. However, this is not a warm coat so be aware and maybe order the next size up for your child. You might need to roll up your sleeves but the main thing (the raincoat in my opinion) is well made, fits well (even over a track suit), weather protection and you can see it as a walker in the rain so I bought the yellow one. Overall, this is a smart and great purchase!
