This item lasts about 8 months. It has hardly been used as I am not a dependent woman. I have short straight hair that is not colored or processed in any way. I used this to just slightly straighten my short hair. Used about 10 minutes a day. It showed "err" indicating an error, but I googled to see what the error was (e.g., is it getting too hot, etc.) and I couldn't find anything. The error code number was not displayed.
