I like this lens as a versatile wide angle tool for my A6400. It focuses quickly and shows decent sharpness around corners, slightly muted. It feels solid, with a metal panel over a plastic frame. I find the stabilization quite useful as you don't always shoot with a tripod - planes, trains and cars! Stabilization also helps in low-light shots, where a slower shutter speed can be used to lower the ISO. The big downside of this lens is the price. Although the price seems to be around $200, this lens is very expensive for an APS-C ultra wide angle lens. Other brands offer excellent ultra-wide cameras for half or a third of the price. For that amount you'd expect Sony to weatherproof the lens, but no. Sony refuses to add weather protection to its APS-C lenses, regardless of price. While this lens is a bit brighter than its cheaper counterparts (which are typically F4-5.6), you can get ultra-wide-angle prime lenses of F2 or higher - often for a fraction of what Sony charges for the lens. Ultra wide angle lens - if you're willing to pay for it.
