Review on ๐Ÿ›ข๏ธ Dorman 917-301 Oil Level Dip Stick: A Reliable Tool for Accurate Oil Measurement by Victor Ewing

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Malfunction. lasted less than 3 days

Well it seems they sent me a defective probe. When I opened the box they looked like the originals, in fact I couldn't tell them apart. I put it in the dip tube and fixed it. When I checked it after a few days I noticed that it was loose and not sealing in the tube. I pulled it out and noticed that the bottom black plastic piece had ripped and slid into the fork tube! Now I have an even bigger problem: broken dipstick and clogged tube, chip stuck at the bottom. I have to remove the transmission pan to get the broken part out. I am not satisfied. I need to contact Dorman when I have time. 1 star. Update 5/5/14: I have contacted Dorman and they have offered to return the defective Revain product. I then processed the return on Revain's website. As always, Revain was great and immediately sent me a new dipstick. I had to send the defective probe back so they wouldn't charge it a second time. After I removed the shards, the second probe works great. Upgrade to 3 stars.
