Just climbed over my TV. Minimum. Wasn't wide enough to cover the entire bottom of my Sony Blu Ray player but was wide enough for four feet. I knew it even before I went in. So measure everything you wear. Worked great. Since it was above my TV and the Blu-ray player was wider than the mount, I used glossy black tape (no protruding threads) to cover the silver parts that weren't blocked by the base of the mount. Looks good. My only concern is that the plastic on the bracket cover is a little flimsy and bent a bit when inserting the screws, resulting in a small crack. The moral of the story is that when attaching the bracket/wire organizer cover to the metal bracket, you tighten the screws slowly. It's not something you can see when everyone is together.
