The paper absorbs water too quickly and the binding is strange

I chose Arteza watercolor books and I have to say I wasn't thrilled. When I first started drawing with paper I had high hopes but there are some problems I would like to solve. First, paper binding is very inconvenient. It is clear that only one side is intended for watercolor, but the pages are abruptly turned. I'm a little confused as to how this was created from the start. The other (most important) problem is that the paper soaks up water very quickly and doesn't give time to rise, one of my favorite tricks. This annoys me a lot and I cannot return the books as I have already used a few pages. I have no issues with the company but I would not recommend this particular brand in the future. Although mini boxes for watercolors are great for me.

Pros
  • a good thing
Cons
  • definitely a bad product
