Review on πŸ”Œ Energy Efficient Cool White LED Mini Christmas Lights – Professional Grade for Indoor & Outdoor Use by Amy Belair

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Two sets arrived broken

They are almost as junk as old cheap imported filament strings with a few exceptions. Half of the string was dead on two of the six sets I bought. You might think that finding a bad LED and replacing it would be an easy task. These LEDs are not easy to repair. It is best to use the socket from the work chain to test each LED in turn. I have found that some LEDs do not light up and are not properly powering the circuit. Some LEDs do not light up but still provide power to the string, so there may be dead LEDs in a working string. About half of the replacement LEDs were defective. Some LEDs shine at half brightness. I had such that the pins were intermittent. It took me about an hour to get both devices up and running and I'm an electrical engineer. One of the positives is that LEDs are stronger and last longer than glass bulbs. No problem breaking them with moderately rough handling. Another positive point is the low power consumption. The workmanship is slightly better than cheap bulbs, but the sockets, plugs and lamp sockets are just as badly designed as the old incandescent bulbs. Only time will tell if these sets stand the test of time. At least the glass doesn't break over the years.
