When I bought this corkscrew I knew it was a fake Laguiole, not French at all. But given the positive reviews and cheap price (I don't have any endorsed reviewers so I paid full price and I can say I want it) I decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. It's heavier than I thought and excellent quality. The design is nice and works as it should. Easily opens wine bottles. There are two bases, but I only needed one (obviously) to open the bottles quickly and accurately. I have another opener that costs about the same and there is no comparison, this Chinese made knife is better in every way. I was so impressed I bought three more to use as hostess gifts and a Flying Colors Leguiole style folding pocket knife. because I like knives and want to make sure they are really high quality.
