Works at 4K @ 120Hz 10bit but GPU thermal issues

Cable works with my 3090 and LG CX. It renders 4K at 120Hz in HDR, with G-Sync working as expected. However, after long gaming sessions, my GPU gets very hot on the wired connector and starts to have problems when the connector gets hot.
